Aspergers Symptoms – Do you have Asperger’s?

There are discussions and studies as to the existence of mild Asperger’s. Aspergers symptoms involves social interaction problems, sensory perception problems, inability to communicate correctly, insensitivity to the feelings of others, and obsessive passion on certain things. These symptoms of Asperger syndrome are much less intense in mild Aspergers. The person is able to cope more easily and can interact in groups much easier than those with more severe Asperger’s. Diagnosing Asperger’s syndrome both mild and severe is the first step to treat the condition. Treatment can focus on adapting coping mechanisms providing a psychiatrist has detected and properly diagnosed the early signs of Asperger’s. Below are some of the characters of mild Asperger’s
Ability to cope in certain situations
Girls with Asperger’s are usually considered mild because they are less affected than boys and their ability to cope is much greater. The primary indication that it is mild is when the person could cope in certain situations but not in all situations such as an ability to cope in small groups of 4 -5 peers but not able to cope in larger groups.

Ability to enter into a short relationship

The person is able to commit to a relationship but has no capability to maintain the relationship for long durations. The person may have a string of relationships all fleeting and temporary because of his or her lack of focus and sensitivity to the other person’s feelings and ideas. They often show more concern for themselves than another person.

Ability to communicate successfully in some instances

Persons with mild Aspergers symptoms can communicate effectively in some situations but would retreat immediately into his or her shell when threatened by several persons. The more persons present the more threatened the person would feel. He or she could cope for quite some time but would eventually retreat into their own world. Those with severe Aspergers would not be able to cope even in small groups without proper treatment and care.

Symptoms of Asperger’s syndrome are not so pronounced in mild Aspergers.

The usually severe symptoms are attenuated when the condition is only mild. In these persons, the psycho-motor skills are more coordinated, the social skills are more developed, they could communicate easier, and they are more sensitive to other people’s wants. Although many of these symptoms still provide difficulty you can implement coping mechanisms more quickly in persons with only the mild type.

Treatment for mild Asperger’s

Mild Aspergers treatment includes psychotherapy and development of interpersonal and social skills. Coping mechanisms are also taught to help develop their independence and self-reliance. Symptoms of Mild Asperger’s syndrome vary from one person to another so treatment of the symptoms vary from one individual to another.

Diagnosing Aspergers symptoms is based on these symptoms and sometimes these symptoms are ignored because they appear as normal or slightly above normal actions or significantly magnified. The careful assessment of mild Asperger’s or serious Asperger’s conditions must be the primary consideration. Persons with Asperger’s have great chances of minimizing the symptoms of Asperger syndrome especially when diagnosed early.
